Air Plants in the Wild

While in Florida this past week looking at new sources of tropical plants, we were able to get out and see some air plants (Tillandsia)  in the wild.  These were spotted in Everglades National Park.  Tillandsia are epiphytes and need no soil because water and nutrients are absorbed through the leaves. The roots are mainly used as anchors.
